Back to Guerilla! |
Platform: Playstation 3
Time played: 15 minutes
Session fun rating: 4/10
Well, they managed to suck the fun out of Red Faction Guerilla. This is not open world and this is not free roaming. It's a corridor third person shooter with aliens (Martians?). The only good part was the weapons. There is a magnetic gun that sort of acts like a gravity gun, a plain old assault rifle, a powerful grenade launcher that is really fun to use and the BFG 2000 of Red Faction, the Singularity gun. It basically shoots a black hole. 'Nuff said.
The destruction looks nice but since the environments are so confined, it feels limited. There is also a new feature to repair infrastructure at the push of a button, a necessity since our little dude doesn't jump very high and broken bridges and walkways are common.
The game looks good, sounds good, has cool weapons but during the short demo, I was bored as fuck. Maybe it's just a bad demo but it sure doesn't give a good first impression.
