Dirt 3

Date played: June 2nd
Platform: Playstation 3
Time played: 40 minutes
Session fun rating: 7/10

Well, the game finally introduced it's new mode, Gymkhana.  Basically, it's Tony Hawk's Pro Skater for cars.  It starts out as a tutorial where each trick has it's own little event.  There are jumps, crash targets, drift gates, donuts and spin zones.  While I found these pretty fun on their own, the requirements for a platinum are a bit too high.  I eventually accepted that I would not platinum every event.

It's fun but I really prefer straight up rally racing.  It's a nice distraction but nothing more.  It's also much easier to play the Gymkhana events in third person view than in first person.

Next I played a quick event on a muddy Finland rally track using Colin McRae's famous R4.  Since PSN is back up (FINALLY!), I activated my VIP pass and was able to upload a video to Youtube.  The video quality is ok at 480p but it actually took quite a bit of time to upload the video and I was even stuck on a queue for about a minute before it started uploading.  I do like uploading my videos though so I'm sure I will keep doing that.
