Date played: January 1st
Platform: PS4
Session fun rating: 7/10
I didn't quite know what to expect with this game, but since I love racing, fast aircraft and minimalist art styles, I figured I couldn't really go wrong with this one.
Race The Sun is basically an endless runner, except you're piloting a solar powered aircraft at incredible speeds. In the background is the Sun, quickly setting. The entire game is a race against the Sun. There are tons of obstacles along the way, as well as power-ups that give you the ability to jump briefly, gain score multipliers or make the Sun go up a little bit and gain some time.
There's some progression here too with small, simple objectives that unlock new things in the game, such as a magnet for grabbing power-ups from further away. It's also worth mentioning that the game's "tracks" are rebuilt randomly every 24 hours, so that's pretty cool. It looks great too, with a truly unique art style and a real sense of speed.
