Picking up where I left off after hunting the Bloodfang Sabretooth, I continued exploring the South-West area. I gathered some collectibles and explored a fun cave. Then I did a few simple side missions like escorting Wenja and hunting cave lions. One thing that's been bugging me a lot is that I haven't seen a fucking rare stripe wolf anywhere. I need one for it's skin and I also want to tame it, since it's the last of the normal animals I have left to tame.
After completing the closed off area, I completed a few simple village missions. In one of them, I had to follow tracks and clues, but along the way, I was faced with many dangerous predators, often all at once. At one point, there was a sabretooth tiger, some wolves, a black panther and a couple of cave lions all in the same spot... I had to be real careful.
I've also started using bait to lure predators closer so that I could throw a spear through their skulls while they're eating. I can't believe I didn't think of doing that before. Speaking of spears, I also gathered enough materials to finally upgrade my spear to it's final stage, making it a very powerful thrown weapon.
The Wenja hunter who calls me Mammoth-Feet had a fun mission for me. She asked me to lure a large mammoth towards some elaborate traps so that we could kill it. I actually came really close to dying, but thankfully, I managed to heal just in time. I then headed North to do a mission for Sayla. Along the way, I was tasked with protecting a group of Wenja from Udam attacks. They came fast and hard, so I had to quick with my arrows and other weapons.
Sayla wanted me to find a rare flower in the snowy parts of the map. This flower would allow her to make a special antidote for poison gas which his often used by the Udam clan. However, when I found the flower, I was ambushed by none other than Ull himself! He easily captured me, took away my weapons and put me in a cage deep inside some caves controlled by his clan.
The big cannibal fucker looked me straight in the eye, with his young daughter on his lap, and explained that he wanted to eat all of the Wenja, then left me to rot in my cell of bones. Of course, this is a video game, so there was a way out! I grabbed a nearby tool and grappled out of the cage.
I picked up my weapons and now had to escape the large cave. I methodically progressed through the area, fighting many Udam, most of which never even knew I was there before I killed them and finally escaped. This whole mission was one of the best in the game so far, I loved it.
