Final Fantasy VI

Date played: May 15th
Platform: Vita
Session fun rating: 9/10

After landing on Kefka's and Gestahl's floating continent, I found Shadow, who rejoined our party. I ended up fighting a LOT of random battles here, leveling up my team and learning new magic spells. I really like the combination of Terra, Locke and Edward together... Eventually, we reached a place where the mystical statues that hold the world together are kept, also where Kefka and Gestahl were. There was an awesome boss fight just before reaching the statues where I fought Atma Weapon, a monstrous beast with very powerful magic. I pulled out all my strongest skills and bested him without much trouble.
Atma Weapon
Shit got crazy again. In a fit of insanity, Kefka knocks out our team and starts moving the statues around to gain power, upsetting the very balance of the world. Emperor Gestahl is a bad guy, but he's a rational bad guy, so he tries to stop Kefka, but fails miserably and is killed by the power-hungry villain. Celes also showed up to try and talk sense into her old ally, but he won't listen and moves the statues. Bravely, Shadow steps in and buys our team enough time to get away, but not before the world balance is upset gravely.

Continents are fractured, oceans are created, mountains crumble and our airship is destroyed. The screen cuts to a small, dilapidated house and I am in control of Celes. Cid walks in and explains that he and Celes were stranded on a small island after the rapture. 1 year has passed, Celes in a coma, and there is no indication that the rest of our team is alive. Cid is very ill too, so Celes starts taking care of the old man. After getting fish from the nearby shore a few times to feed Cid, he dies of his illness, leaving Celes alone on the island...
