I love this game because it's just mindless driving. I started skipping the story as it wasn't very interesting anyway. The driving is so good though that I just want to play missions. There are a LOT of side missions in this game and they are pretty varied. Many of them are checkpoint events but there are tons of different activities. I also played some challenges that are unlocked as I grab movie tokens around the city. These challenges are a bit more difficult but the real feature here is doing some old school missions and chases. They are sometimes set in the 70's like the original game and are a ton of fun.
I also unlocked a feature that lets me jump around two different cop cars to complete a mission, sort of a buddy system. It's really cool to ram a car with one police cruiser then shifting to another cruiser to finish the job. I've also started using shift in a more aggressive way, jumping ahead and making competing cars crash and stuff.
